Charli XCX is feeling the pain after doing a lot of "physical damage" to her body on tour.

The "Apple" singer recently sat down for an interview with Variety published Wednesday (December 4) where she talked about going on the road with Troye Sivan for their co-headlining Sweat tour and how touring is "really hard [for her] emotionally" as it ends up taking a physical toll on her body, per People.

"I find the stage — especially these days — to be a very angry place for me," she said. "I've done a lot of physical damage to my body from performing, and I'm often in a lot of pain when I perform. Physically, I have nerve damage in my neck from things I've done on the stage."

However, it's a bit of a Catch-22 situation as Charli noted that has to be physical on stage in order to give the kind of performance she wants.

"For me to give a performance that I feel is good enough, I have to really physically throw myself around — and that makes me very upset when I do it," she said. "So it's kind of this hell hole."

The "365" musician said her recent tour with Sivan was "less of an emotional battle" than previous tours because he and all the surprise guest performers "made me feel a lot lighter."

In addition to the tour, Charli has had a big year thanks to Brat Summer, which has left such a big mark on pop culture that "brat" was even named the Word of the Year.
